DR. MARIA MONTESSORI
The Remarkable Life and Work of Dr. Maria Montessori
Maria Montessori was the first woman in Italy to practice medicine. Her education spanned several fields, including biology, psychiatry, anthropology, and medicine, culminating in her graduation from the University of Rome's Faculty of Medicine in 1896. As a medical professional, Dr. Montessori had the opportunity to work closely with young children, which sparked her fascination with their development. Through careful observation and study, she discovered that children build their personalities through interactions with their surroundings. Dr. Montessori also noted that children learned best when they could spontaneously choose and work independently with the materials she provided.

The Benefits of Montessori Education for Your Child
Montessori education is a unique approach that encourages self-paced and student-led learning guided by experienced and caring teachers. Within a multi-age classroom, children are exposed to multi-sensory learning and are allowed to pursue their interests at their own pace. This approach promotes independence, citizenship, and accountability, which leads to confident, enthusiastic, and self-directed learners who think critically, collaborate effectively, and act courageously with integrity.
